개요: 부활의 기쁨 속에 고난의 기억이 존재한다,

  

[막]16:2 안식 후 첫날 매우 일찍이 해 돋을 때에 그 무덤으로 가며

  

[막]16:3 서로 말하되 누가 우리를 위하여 무덤 문에서 돌을 굴려 주리요 하더니

  

[막]16:4 눈을 들어본즉 벌써 돌이 굴려져 있는데 그 돌이 심히 크더라

  

[막]16:5 무덤에 들어가서 흰 옷을 입은 한 청년이 우편에 앉은 것을 보고 놀라매

  

[막]16:6 청년이 이르되 놀라지 말라 너희가 십자가에 못 박히신 나사렛 예수를 찾는구나 그가 살아나셨고 여기 계시지 아니하니라 보라 그를 두었던 곳이니라

  

[막]16:7 가서 그의 제자들과 베드로에게 이르기를 예수께서 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가시나니 전에 너희에게 말씀하신 대로 너희가 거기서 뵈오리라 하라 하는지라

  

 

  

2026년 부활절이 되었습니다. 예수님께서 부활하신 것은 일년에 한 번만 묵상하는 것이 아니고 날마다 항상 묵상하는 것이지만 특별히 부활절을 지키는 것은 그것이 새로운 경험이라는 특별한 의미를 갖기 때문입니다. 올해 나의 모든 상황에서 이 부활절을 지키면서 주님의 부활이 나의 부활이 되고 주님의 영광이 나의 영광이 되는 것을 깨닫습니다. 주님은 주님이고 나는 나이다라고 할 수 있을 것 같은데 왜 주님이 나와 연결되는지를 생각해보면 그것은 주님이 나를 위해서 죽으셨기 때문입니다. 그리고 주님은 나를 위해서 부활하셨습니다. 우리는 이 주님의 죽으심과 부활하심의 의미를 잘 기억해서 우리를 위해서 죽으셨던 주님의 뜻을 잘 간직하고 기억해야 합니다.

  

이것이 중요한 이유는 우리가 주님으로 인해 살아난 자들이 되었기 때문에 주님의 뜻을 잘 간직하고 기억하면 그 뜻대로 살 수 있습니다. 주님은 단지 생명만 주시는 것이 아닙니다. 가치도 주십니다. 우리에게 생명 주셨던 주님이 가장 가치 있기 때문에 그 주님의 가치를 위해서 살아간다면 우리도 가치를 얻을 수 있습니다. 예수님의 가치에 참여하는 자가 되는 것입니다. 이 부활절에 우리가 예수님의 부활의 기쁨과 영광에 더욱 연합되고 더욱 충만하게 되기 위해서 생각해야 하는 것은 주님의 부활이 그냥 이루어진 것이 아니라는 것입니다.

  

 

  

그 부활이 그냥 이루어진 것이 아니라는 말은 고난을 통해서 이루어진 부활이라는 의미입니다. 부활의 기쁨만 생각하다 보면 자칫 부활부터만 생각하기 쉽습니다. 고난주간에 이어지는 부활절이기 때문에 절기상 고난주간의 의미를 깨달으면서 부활로 나아가기 마련이지만 그것도 마음 속에 잘 생각해 놓아야 부활 속에서 고난을 기억해 낼 수 있습니다. 2,3절을 보십시오.

  

“[막]16:2 안식 후 첫날 매우 일찍이 해 돋을 때에 그 무덤으로 가며

  

[막]16:3 서로 말하되 누가 우리를 위하여 무덤 문에서 돌을 굴려 주리요 하더니”

  

마가복음16장에 나오는 여인들은 막달라 마리아와 작은 야고보와 요세의 어머니와 야고보와 요한의 어머니인 살로메였습니다. 이들은 무덤으로 갔고 무덤 문의 막힌 돌을 어떻게 굴릴 수 있을지를 걱정하면서 갔습니다. 그런데 그곳이 부활의 장소였습니다. 왜냐하면 예수님은 죽은 다음에 그곳에 묻히셨기 때문입니다. 이것이 바로 부활 속에서 발견하는 고난의 기억입니다. 부활은 고난으로부터 멀리 발생하거나 고난과 아무 상관없이 일어난 일이 아니었습니다. 가장 고통스러운 고난의 장소가 가장 영광스러운 부활의 장소로 변화되었습니다.

  

이렇게 우리가 삶에서 부활을 가장 기뻐한다면 고난을 이해했기 때문입니다. 그리스도의 고난에 안타까워하고 감사하게 생각할 때 그리스도의 부활에 대해서도 기뻐하고 감격할 수 있습니다. 여자들의 마음을 생각해 보십시오. 그렇게 죽으셨던 그리스도를 안타까워하면서 향품을 바르기 위해서 무덤에 왔는데 그런 정성이 있었기 때문에 그리스도의 부활을 알게 되었을 때 그들은 얼마나 기뻤겠습니까?

  

그들은 놀라면서 기뻐했겠지만 우리는 알면서 기뻐합니다. 그리스도의 고난만 있었다면 슬퍼했겠지만 그 고난으로 인해서 우리가 구원을 받았습니다. 그리고 예수님은 죄가 없으신 하나님의 아들이셨기 때문에 다시 부활하셨습니다. 그래서 죽으심으로 우리의 죄를 사해주시고 부활하심으로 우리를 하나님께로 인도해 주십니다.

  

 

  

그 영광스러운 예수님을 생각할 때 예수님을 지칭하는 말이 있습니다. 그것은 십자가에 달리셨던 예수님입니다. 4절 부터 보십시오.

  

“[막]16:4 눈을 들어본즉 벌써 돌이 굴려져 있는데 그 돌이 심히 크더라

  

[막]16:5 무덤에 들어가서 흰 옷을 입은 한 청년이 우편에 앉은 것을 보고 놀라매

여인들은 무덤에 도착해 보니 놀랍게도 무덤의 입구를 막은 커다란 돌이 굴려져 있는 것을 보았습니다. 무덤 안에 들어가 보니 흰 옷을 입은 한 청년이 시신이 놓여져 있던 곳의 우편에 앉아 있는 것을 보고 또 놀랐습니다. 그 청년은 바로 예수님의 부활을 알리러 온 천사였습니다. 그때 그 천사가 다시 살아나신 예수님을 지칭하는 말을 보십시오. ‘십자가에 못 박히신 나사렛 예수’라고 했습니다. 예수님은 부활하셨는데 이전에 고난 당하셨던 것이 영광으로 변화된 모습이었습니다.

  

예수님의 고난은 잊혀지는 기억이 아니었습니다. 십자가에 못 박히신 예수님은 하나님의 원하심을 이루신 가장 거룩하고 숭고한 모습이었습니다. 그러니 부활 속에서 고난의 기억은 다 사라지고 이전에 그랬던 적이 없는 것처럼 부활의 모습으로 나타나시는 것이 아니었습니다. 부활하신 예수님의 호칭이 바로 십자가에 못박히신 나사렛 예수 였기 때문에 그분의 고난 받으심은 가장 영광스러우신 거룩한 모습이었던 것입니다.

  

시상대에서 상장이나 훈장이나 메달을 받는 것을 생각해 보십시오. 가장 영광스러운 일로 그 시상을 받게 됩니다. 그럴 때 그 내용은 그로 인해서 혜택을 보는 사람들에 의해서 칭송을 받습니다. 예수님의 부활하심에 대한 찬양을 그렇게 생각해 보십시오. 이 세상에서 구원받은 모든 자들과 하나님께 속한 천군, 천사, 기타 영적 존재들이 예수님의 부활에 찬양을 올립니다. 그리고 그 부활의 의미는 바로 ‘십자가에 못박히셔서 죽으셨다가 다시 살아나신 분’이었습니다. 부활 속에 고난의 가치가 함께 들어가 있음을 우리는 잊지 말아야 하겠습니다. 

  

 

  

그걸 기억한다면 지금도 예수님의 고난을 따르면서 동참하고 있는 우리의 삶도 의미를 갖습니다. 예수님이 이 세상에 오셔서 제자를 삼으시고 말씀을 가르치신 것이 헛되지 않았고 우리의 죄 때문에 죽으신 것이 가장 귀한 일이었던 것처럼 주님과 함께 고난 받는 것이 우리에게는 가장 귀한 일이 됩니다. 왜냐하면 주님의 부활을 볼 때 우리도 부활해 있을 것이기 때문입니다. 우리는 부활하신 주님을 보지 못하고 함께 부활하지 못하는 자들이 아닙니다. 예수님의 부활에 기뻐하며 즐거워 하는 우리는 그 부활에 동참할 사람들입니다. 

  

예수님의 부활의 소식을 전했던 천사는 그 부활의 소식을 듣고 있는 여인들에게 부활의 지속되는 기쁨에 참여하는 방법을 알려주었습니다.

  

“[막]16:7 가서 그의 제자들과 베드로에게 이르기를 예수께서 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가시나니 전에 너희에게 말씀하신 대로 너희가 거기서 뵈오리라 하라 하는지라”

  

부활하신 예수님은 제자들을 만나 주십니다. 그리고 갈릴리에서 거기서 뵐 것이라고 했습니다. 제자들은 그 말씀에 따라 부활의 주님을 사모하며 갈릴리로 갔습니다.

  

“[마]28:16 열한 제자가 갈릴리에 가서 예수께서 지시하신 산에 이르러

  

[마]28:17 예수를 뵈옵고 경배하나 아직도 의심하는 사람들이 있더라”

  

십자가에서 죽으셨다가 다시 부활하신 예수님은 제자들을 만나주시고 아직도 의심하는 제자들이 있었지만 그들을 붙들어 주셨습니다. 예수님은 지금도 항상 우리와 함께 하십니다. 우리를 하나님 앞으로 인도하실 때까지 우리를 붙들어 주실 것입니다. 부활하신 주님의 영광을 생각한다면 십자가에 달리셨던 주님을 항상 따라가야 하겠습니다. 그러면 주님은 언제나 우리를 만나주실 것입니다. 우리를 위해서 십자가에서 죽으셨다가 다시 살아나신 주님이시기 때문에 고난을 아시고 우리의 고난을 긍휼히 여기시며 우리의 어려움을 기억하시고 우리를 붙들어 주실 것입니다.

  

 

  

예수님의 부활의 영광은 이전에 고난 당하셨기 때문에 더욱 고귀한 가치가 있습니다. 그 고난을 잊어버리시는 분이 아닙니다. 이러한 예수님의 은혜를 생각하면서 부활의 기쁨 속에서 날마다 살아가는 자들이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

Overview: The memory of suffering exists within the joy of resurrection,

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:2 Very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:3 They said to one another, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?”

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:4 And when they looked up, they saw that the stone had already been rolled away, and it was very large.

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:5 When they entered the tomb, they were astonished to see a young man dressed in white sitting at the right.

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:6 The young man said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen and is not here. Behold, the place where he was laid.”

  

 

  

[Mark] 16:7 Go and tell his disciples and Peter, “Jesus died before you.” He said, “He is going to Galilee, and you will see Him there, just as He told you before.”

  

 

  

It is Easter 2026. Although we do not meditate on Jesus’ resurrection only once a year but every day, we observe Easter specifically because it holds a special meaning. As I observe this Easter this year, I realize that the Lord’s resurrection is my resurrection, and the Lord’s glory is my glory. It might seem that one could say, “The Lord is the Lord, and I am me,” but when I reflect on why the Lord is connected to me, it is because the Lord died for me. And the Lord resurrected for me. We must remember the meaning of the Lord’s death and resurrection well, and cherish and remember the will of the Lord who died for us.

  

 

  

The reason this is important is that because we have become those who have been brought to life through the Lord, if we cherish and remember His will well, we can live according to it. The Lord does not merely give life; He also gives value. Since the Lord who gave us life is the most valuable, if we live for the value of that Lord, we too can gain value. We become those who participate in the value of Jesus. In order for us to be more united and fully filled with the joy and glory of Jesus’ resurrection this Easter, we must remember that the Lord’s resurrection did not happen by chance.

  

 

  

The statement that the resurrection did not happen by chance means that it was a resurrection achieved through suffering. If we focus only on the joy of the resurrection, it is easy to think only about the resurrection itself. Since Easter follows Holy Week, we naturally move toward the resurrection while realizing the significance of Holy Week in the liturgical sense; however, we must keep this in mind so that we can remember the suffering within the resurrection. Look at verses 2 and 3.

  

“[Mark] 16:2 Very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

  

[Mark] 16:3 And they said to one another, ‘Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?’”

  

The women mentioned in Mark 16 were Mary Magdalene, the mother of James the Younger and Joseph, and Salome, the mother of James and John. They went to the tomb, worrying about how they could roll away the stone blocking the entrance. Yet, that very place was the site of the resurrection. This is because Jesus was buried there after He died. This is precisely the memory of suffering found within the resurrection. The resurrection was not something that occurred far removed from suffering or happened completely unrelated to it. The place of the most painful suffering was transformed into the place of the most glorious resurrection.

  

 

  

If we rejoice most in the resurrection in our lives in this way, it is because we have understood suffering. When we feel sorrow and gratitude for Christ's suffering, we can also rejoice and be moved by His resurrection. Consider the hearts of the women. They came to the tomb to anoint Christ with spices, lamenting His death; how happy must they have been when they learned of Christ's resurrection because of such devotion?

  

 

  

They rejoiced in astonishment, but we rejoice knowing. If there had only been Christ's suffering, we would have grieved, but through that suffering, we received salvation. And because Jesus was the sinless Son of God, He rose again. Therefore, He forgives our sins through His death and leads us to God through His resurrection.

  

 

  

When we think of that glorious Jesus, there is a term that refers to Him. It is the Jesus who was crucified. Please look starting from verse 4.

  

“[Mark] 16:4 When they looked up, they saw that the stone had already been rolled away, and it was very large.

  

[Mark] 16:5 When they entered the tomb, they were astonished to see a young man dressed in white sitting at the right.

  

[Mark] 16:6 The young man said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen and is not here. Behold, this is where he was laid.’”

  

When the women arrived at the tomb, they were astonished to see that the large stone blocking the entrance had been rolled away. Upon entering the tomb, they were astonished again to see a young man dressed in white sitting at the right of where the body had been laid. That young man was the angel who had come to announce the resurrection of Jesus. Look at the words the angel used to refer to the resurrected Jesus. He said, “Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.” Jesus had resurrected, but his former suffering had been transformed into glory.

  

 

  

Jesus’ suffering was not a memory that would be forgotten. Jesus, crucified on the cross, was the most holy and sublime manifestation of God's will. Therefore, it was not that the memory of His suffering vanished during the resurrection, or that He appeared in His resurrected form as if He had never existed before. Because the title of the resurrected Jesus was "Jesus of Nazareth crucified," His suffering was the most glorious and holy manifestation.

  

 

  

Consider receiving an award, medal, or certificate on a podium. You receive that award for the most glorious deed. At such times, the content is praised by those who benefit from it. Think of the praise for Jesus' resurrection in this way. All those saved in this world, along with the heavenly hosts, angels, and other spiritual beings belonging to God, offer praise for Jesus' resurrection. And the meaning of that resurrection was precisely that of "the One who was crucified, died, and rose again." We must not forget that the value of suffering is included within the resurrection.

  

 

  

If we remember this, our lives, as we follow and participate in Jesus' suffering even now, also take on meaning. Just as Jesus’ coming into this world, making disciples, and teaching the Word was not in vain, and His death for our sins was the most precious thing, suffering with the Lord becomes the most precious thing for us. This is because when we witness the Lord’s resurrection, we too will be resurrected. We are not those who cannot see the resurrected Lord and cannot be resurrected with Him. We, who rejoice and are glad at Jesus’ resurrection, are the ones who will participate in that resurrection.

  

 

  

The angel who delivered the news of Jesus’ resurrection taught the women who were hearing the news how to participate in the enduring joy of the resurrection.

  

“[Mark] 16:7 Go and tell his disciples and Peter, ‘Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.’”

  

The resurrected Jesus meets with His disciples. And He said that He would see them in Galilee. Following those words, the disciples went to Galilee, longing for the resurrected Lord.

  

“[Matthew] 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them.

  

[Matthew] 28:17 When they saw Jesus, they worshiped him, but some still doubted.”

  

Jesus, who died on the cross and rose again, met with His disciples and upheld them, even though there were still some who doubted. Jesus is always with us even now. He will uphold us until He leads us to God. If we contemplate the glory of the resurrected Lord, we must always follow the Lord who was crucified. Then the Lord will always meet us. Because He is the Lord who died on the cross for us and rose again, He knows suffering, has compassion on our suffering, remembers our difficulties, and will uphold us.

  

 

  

The glory of Jesus’ resurrection holds even more noble value because He suffered before. He is not one who forgets that suffering. Reflecting on this grace of Jesus, I pray in the name of the Lord that you become those who live every day in the joy of the resurrection.
